Emergency services to hold exercise at gas site

• Isle of Man Energy is asking people not to panic if they see the emergency services rushing to its facilities in Douglas Harbour this week.
• The company says it’s holding an emergency response exercise at its gas sphere site on Wednesday, July 22.
• It’ll involve vehicles and staff from the Fire and Rescue Service, Civil Defence, Coastguard, Health and Safety, paramedics and police.

3FM · Island News · 06:36 Inflation falls last month but remains high overall • Inflation on the Island fell again last month - but is still around twice as high as it was this time last year. • The latest figures published by the Cabinet Office show the Consumer Price Index stood at 4.6 per cent, down 0.3 per cent on May. • Statistics Isle of Man says over the last year the biggest riser has been oil and fuels - up more than 73 per cent.

3FM · Transport · 12:40 Chief Minister writes to DOI over TT film road closures • Chief Minister Alf Cannan says he's written to the Department of Infrastructure about planned road closures for the TT film next month. • The crew and cast of Isle of Man will be back on the Island shotting on the TT course for a week from Saturday, August 8. • Mr Cannan is calling for more communication about access for residents and alternative routes around the closures, warning the Orrisdale and Bollyn Roads can’t cope with heavy traffic.
