IoM Today · Politics · 12:42 President of Tynwald to make an address to King Charles III during royal visit • The Lord of Mann will be invited to respond. • The details are contained within the Tynwald Order Paper released on Thursday, ahead of the King’s first official visit to the island as monarch on Tuesday. • The special sitting will see King Charles, who is also Lord of Mann, take part in a ceremonial procession before the President of Tynwald delivers a Loyal Address on behalf of the island’s parliament.

IoM Today · Island News · 16:18 Assisted dying has been legalised in the first jurisdiction in the British Isles • But it’s not the Isle of Man. • Jersey has become the first jurisdiction in the British Isles to legalise assisted dying after its law was granted Royal Assent, placing it ahead of the Isle of Man’s own legislation which remains awaiting final approval. • Royal Assent is the final stage in Jersey’s legislative process and the law will come into force once it is registered by the Royal Court in the coming days.

3FM · Transport · 12:04 Airport passengers figures down last month • Ronaldsway Airport says the number of people passing through it last month fell by almost 1.5 per cent. • Its passenger figures for June show 63,766 people used the facility over the course of the month, down on last year’s tally of 64,677. • The data shows the amount of general cargo flown via the airport in June was up more than 51 per cent on 2025, while there was also a 21 per cent rise in the amount of mail passing through it.

3FM · Island News · 11:34 Watch kayakers' close encounter with group of basking sharks • A father and daughter got a surprise while out kayaking earlier this week - after a group of basking sharks joined them. • Ian Judd and his daughter Ava were out on the sea off the west coast on Wednesday evening when they came across the huge sharks. • They took video footage of the large group of marine animals feeding and swimming nose to tail in tight circles around them.

IoM Today · Health · 14:28 Work starts on new river flood wall • People are being asked to take care when passing the work site. • The Department of Infrastructure (DoI) has appointed JCK Ltd to carry out the works on the southern bank of the river, passing Manx Utilities’ Pulrose Power Station and the car park adjacent to the National Sports Centre ’s main sports hall. • The project will connect with a similar section of river wall recently completed between Pulrose Bridge and the power station.

IoM Today · Law · 14:14 Learner driver found to be unaccompanied when police stopped him • Court heard he wasn’t allowed to simply exchange his Ghanaian licence. • Joel Nii Ansah Buxton, of Osborne Grove, admitted both offences and also received five penalty points. • Magistrates heard that police stopped the defendant while he was driving a Lexus RX 350 on March 12, on Bucks Road.
