Tynwald · Sitting watch

Tynwald in plain English

Next up:Tynwald Court — Mon, 6 Jul 2026 · 11.00 am. Plain-English bullets from the official order papers, votes and proceedings: agenda, questions, decisions, named members and next dates.

Plain-English brief

What is on the agenda

  • Treasury (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2025
  • Global Minimum Tax (Pillar Two) Order 2024 (Confirmation) Act 2025
  • Reproductive Rights Act 2025
  • Statute Law Revision Act 2025
  • Elections (Keys and Local Authorities) (Amendment) Act 2026

Read order paper

What was achieved

  • Usefulness: high. The sitting moved from broad debate into line-by-line decisions.
  • Progress: real, but procedural. Bills and amendments advanced; this was not just talk.
  • NHS reform was tested clause by clause, with some amendments accepted and others rejected.
  • Entity-registration checks moved forward strongly: eight amendments carried and the Bill reached third reading.
  • Ministers answered oral questions in public, so scrutiny happened on the record.
  • Bottom line: useful meeting, measurable legislative progress, and clear names attached to the work.
