New video warns drivers de-restricted doesn’t mean no rules

• A new video explaining the Isle of Man's de-restricted roads has been released by motoring community Petrolheadonism.
• Founder Ciro Ciampi says the aim is to help visitors understand how the Island’s roads work, while urging drivers not to "be silly" behind the wheel.
• The video features police officers explaining although many roads have no national speed limit, motorists must drive at a speed that’s appropriate for the road.

3FM · Island News14:28 Department told to provide new FOI response to Visit Isle of Man query • The Department for Enterprise will have to give a new answer to a Freedom of Information request after an appeal to the Island's information commissioner. • Someone asked the department for Visit Isle of Man’s staff and salaries - but was unhappy about unclear pay scales given in the response. • Dr Alexandra Delaney-Bhattacharya said the department hadn’t provided a response to all parts of the request.

None next year, say scientists! • A leading scientific forum says no plaice should be caught in the waters around the Isle of Man next year. • The International Council for the Exploration of the Sea has made recommendations for the Irish Sea for 2027. • In it, the body says in order to protect fisheries for the future there should be no plaice caught in the Irish Sea next year.
