• 'Clear' community and social need for extension. • Santon Church is seeking planning permission to extend its hall to provide improved nursery provision and a ’flexible’ church and community meeting room. • The plans would see a shed currently situated on the land knocked down to make room for the extension.
• Onchan's postmaster says the village's post office will be closing in August. • Hassan Patel explains it’s because of the new contact offered by government, which makes the business no longer viable. • Mr Patel and his wife Hafswa have run the facility for over a decade.
• Vincent De Bontin finished second on his first time competing at the event. • He and a supporter journeyed from Le Creusot, south of Dijon in the Saône-et-Loire department. • Upon their arrival they had no form of transport for back-up and little idea of the terrain or the route of the 85-mile event.
