Tynwald in plain English

Next up:House of Keys + Legislative Council — Tue, 23 Jun 2026 · 10.00am. Plain-English bullets from the official order papers, votes and proceedings: agenda, questions, decisions, named members and next dates.

What is on the agenda

  • Questions are listed on the separate Question Paper.
  • The Hon. Member for Ramsey, Mr Hooper, to ask the Minister for the Treasury – Further to his email to Members of 10th June 2026, why Treasury missed the deadline to report to Tynwald by June 2026 on reforms to the benefits system; when he knew the deadline would be missed; why no update was provided to Tynwald; and if he will make a statement.
  • Page 7, after line 34 insert — «([Y]) The Treasury must, in the first occurring July after the commencement of this section and every July thereafter, lay before Tynwald a review of its operation, including — (a) the impact on the number of unoccupiable buildings being brought back into use; (b) the financial impact on property owners; and Amendments Rating and Valuation (Amendment) Bill 2026 Page iv c (c) any consequential impact on local authority rate income.». Appropriately number the insertion as a subsection of the substituted section 75A depending on the fate of amendments 8 and 9 above. (Dr Haywood)
