• A flight from the Island to Liverpool diverted to Manchester yesterday after an emergency. • The easyJet flight was coming in to land at John Lennon Airport when it aborted the landing sequence because of an aircraft on the runway. • A short time later the Airbus A319 entered a holding pattern, before diverting.

• Ramsey Cottage Hospital is undergoing major work at present. • Manx Care had hoped to have the hospital back up and running at full capacity by now after remedial works began in October 2025 with modifications made to ensure they meet statutory compliance standards for health and safety and fire protection. • However, major structural issues were found, particularly with the building’s roof, which means more major work is needed.

• Production for Hollywood film taking place at 2026 event. • The director behind an upcoming Hollywood film inspired by the TT says they want to portray the ’authenticity’ of both the event and the Isle of Man as a whole. • In 2026, Amazon MGM Studios is carrying out production on a new film called ’Isle of Man, with Channing Tatum and Eve Hewson currently attached to star.

• TT beachcross in the west of the Island has been cancelled this year. • The traditional entertainment on Peel beach during the festival was due to go ahead from 5pm on Thursday, June 4. • It attracts thousands of people on what would have been a contingency day for the TT.
• It was a record scoreline for a Manx Women’s Cup final. • Millie Dawson opened the scoring on three minutes, before Chloe Teare made it 2-0. • Holly Sumner then fired home a brace, before Kayleigh-Dee Corrin scored a long-range speculative effort.

Ms Christian’s amendment was lost 11 for, 12 against. Mr Glover’s amendment was lost 7 for, 16 against. Dr Allinson’s amendment carried 15 for, 8 against and replaced the substantive motion. Parts a, b and c then carried; the amended motion as a whole carried 17 for, 6 against.
