Mountain to stay closed until Monday

The Mountain Road on the Isle of Man will remain closed to traffic until Monday, February 16, due to adverse weather conditions. The Department of Infrastructure has announced that the closure is necessary following heavy snowfall that impacted the area, and the road is expected to stay shut until 4:30 PM on that date.

The Ronaldsway Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for frost and ice, effective from 5 PM today, February 13. With temperatures predicted to drop below freezing, the risk of icy surfaces on the roads increases, making travel hazardous. Motorists are urged to avoid the area and adhere to safety guidelines during this period.

The weather warning is expected to be lifted by noon tomorrow, February 14; however, overnight conditions could bring additional wintry showers, which may further affect road safety. Residents and visitors are encouraged to stay informed and take precautions if they must travel in the region.
